CORNWALL, Ontario – They’re calling it a heat warning – and if you think today is bad, wait until Tuesday.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Cornwall area and much of Ontario. Today the mercury is expected to be well into the 30s, the humidex making it feel like 38.
The effects of the humidity Tuesday, Canada Day, will make it feel like 40 or more.
A cold front is expected to whip through the area later on Tuesday, which will ease the humidex values, but create the perfect conditions for thunderstorms.
Avoid unnecessary outdoor activities if you can, and drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
Note to Canada Day revelers: alcoholic beverages will not hydrate you, but instead remove fluids from your system, so drink responsibly.
