CORNWALL, Ontario – A motorcyclist from Quebec died following a serious collision with a passsenger vehicle north of Maxville Thursday morning.
A Yahama motorcycle was southbound on County Road 20 on the overpass when it collided with a Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by a 77-year-old woman from Gatineau, Que.
St-Eugene-Guigues resident Sylvain Coulombe, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cavalier was entering County Road 20 from the eastbound off-ramp of Highway 417 in North Glengarry at approximately 9:40 a.m.
A section of County Road 20 (south of the Highway 417 overpass) and County Road 9 (north of the overpass) as well as the eastbound off-ramp from Highway 417 at Highland Road were closed for several hours.
OPP SD&G Const. Joel Dorion said technical traffic collision investigators and officers continue to investigate.
