ASSAULT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – Sav Merkley-Benedict, 18, of Alexandria, was arrested on Jan. 29, 2024, and charged with assault and two counts of criminal harassment. It is alleged on Jan. 16, 2024, the individual assaulted and harassed another person known to them. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 29, 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to address the matter. The individual was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 12, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF UNDER $5,000, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Jan. 29, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Mischief interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property under $5,000
  • Criminal harassment

It is alleged on Jan. 29, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate with his ex-girlfriend. It is also alleged on this date, the man changed the door locks at his ex-girlfriend’s residence and harassed her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Patricia Rosenberg, 32, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 30, 2024, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprints on Jan. 8, 2024, and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. It is also alleged she was scheduled to attend court on Jan. 16, 2024, and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Jan. 30, 2024, police located the woman and the warrants were executed. She was released to appear in court on March 7, 2024.
