DeAngelis scores a pair to lead Wolves to 6-2 win and five-game series victory

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Nick DeAngelis scored twice as the Sudbury Wolves topped the Mississauga Steelheads 6-2 to win the Ontario Hockey League first-round playoff series in five games.

Quentin Musty, David Goyette, Alex Pharand and Evan Konyen also tallied for Sudbury.

Angus MacDonell and Jack Van Volsen replied for Mississauga.

RANGERS 3 OTTERS 2 (OT)

KITCHENER – Trent Swick scored at 12:02 of overtime as the Rangers topped the Otters. 

Kitchener has a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.  

Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at Erie.

BATTALION 5 FRONTENACS 1

NORTH BAY – Justin Ertel scored twice to lead the Battalion to victory over the Frontenacs.

Sandis Vilmanis had three assists as North Bay wrapped up the series in five games.

COLTS 3 GENERALS 0

OSHAWA – Sam Hillebrandt made 47 saves for the shutout as the Colts blanked the Generals.

Kashawn Aitcheson opened the scoring with 4:32 remaining in the third period. Barrie added a pair of empty-net goals.

The Colts will face another must-win situation when they return home for Game 6 on Sunday.
