Duo charged with robbery of store on Second Street East

Cornwall, ON – Bradley Mondoux, 22 and Shelley Champagne, 43 both from Cornwall were arrested on July 22, 2016. It is alleged in the early morning hours of July 22, 2016 Mondoux attended a Second Street East store, concealed his identity and demanded money from the clerk all the while brandishing a knife. Mondoux then threatened bystanders with the knife as he fled the scene with Champagne. Police were contacted to investigate and a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service spotted the suspect’s vehicle in the area of Bryden Street while responding to the call. Both were taken into custody during the traffic stop and stolen clothing was located during a search of the vehicle. Mondoux and Champagn were charged as follows:

 Mondoux: 

  • Disguise with intent
  • Robbery with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Property obtained by crime
  • Breach of probation

Champagne: 

  • Robbery with a weapon
  • Property obtained by crime

 As a result of a separate investigation, Mondoux was also charged with possession of a stolen motorcycle. 

Both Mondoux and Champagne were held for a bail hearing.
