FOTST invites residents to spend Family Day on the Trails
FOTST extended an invitation to the public to join them in various outdoor activities that will be taking place this family day.

SUMMERSTOWN, ON – The Friends of the Summerstown Trails (FOTST) invites residents and families to come out to the cross-country ski and snowshoe trails at the Summerstown Forest in celebration of Family Day, this Monday, Feb. 20.

“Last year’s event, which attracted more than 200 participants was a great success,” said Paul Couture, FOTST President. “Many families came out to the trails for the first time to try out cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.”

As a way of showing appreciation to local families, all activities will be provided free of cost by FOTST.

In addition to the 18 km of cross-country ski trails and 9 km of snowshoe trails, the day’s activities will include snowshoe races for kids, guided tours, hot dog lunch, marshmallows and hot chocolate. Families will also be able to rent ski and snowshoe equipment free of charge throughout the day.

Activities will be taking place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The trails are located on Summerstown Road, 1.6 km north of exit 804 of the 401.
