Cornwall, Ontario – The Centre for the Arts Collective hosted its spring fundraiser at the Royal Canadian Legion on April 21 to raise funds for the Cornwall Arts Hall of Fame. The fundraiser was a sold-out affair, featuring a sit-down dinner, a silent auction of artwork, and a musical performance by the Lucy McCartney Heart String Ensemble fronted by local dignitary Syd Gardiner.

Rose Desnoyers, President of The Centre for the Arts Collective, shared her enthusiasm for the evening’s success. “We have been doing this since 2015 to raise funds for the Cornwall Arts Hall of Fame and an Arts Centre,” Desnoyers explained. “This activity tonight is for the Cornwall Arts Hall of Fame. It allows us to treat inductees honored in a beautiful way on October 26.”

In addition, City Councillor Elaine MacDonald provided an update on the much-anticipated Arts Centre on Pitt Street, which had seen delays over the winter. “Work has begun again on the Arts Centre on Pitt Street. It was a very long winter with nothing going on, but now things are happening, and we’ll see a lot of action. Within a week or two, you will see signs in the front of action going on behind that big façade,” MacDonald noted.
