ONTARIO – The Province of Ontario released the most popular baby names of 2018 on Friday, Dec. 20.
One name in particular, Olivia, has appeared at the top of the girls’ list for the past nine years and has been registered more than 8,300 times; it is likely the most popular baby name provincially of the decade.
The following is a list of the top five most popular baby names of 2018:

“With the 5-in-1 (Service Ontario) online newborn bundle, parents can apply for a birth certificate, a Social Insurance Number and Canada Child Benefits, including the Ontario Child Benefit and Education Savings Referral service. That’s five separate applications that are now combined into one easy-to-use online process,” read a Provincial press release statement.
In Ottawa/Eastern Ontario, popular names generally lineup with those seen across the province. The following is a list of the top five most popular names in our region in 2017:
