CORNWALL, Ontario – Four Cornwall men face a slew of charges after an argument turned violent and a prohibited weapon was found.
Cornwall police said a man, 22, was struck on the arm with a baseball bat during a May 9 argument.
The men charged were also found by police to be carrying a Taser, typically used by officers to subdue individuals by non-lethal means.
James Atkinson, 31, Muhammed Chughtai, 27, Cory Leduc, 31 and Curtis Trudeau, 24 all of Cornwall were arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited device and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Atkinson was also charged with breaching an undertaking order, probation order and a prohibition order. Chughtai was additionally charged with breach of a prohibition order and Leduc with assault cause bodily harm.
The men were released to appear in court. None of the charges have been proven.
