Cornwall man breaks into home and sexually assaults teen at knifepoint

CORNWALL, Ontario – A Cornwall teenager was attacked in their own home last week when a man broke in, carrying a knife.

The man sexually assaulted the teenager, 13, while brandishing the weapon. Police said the victim knows the man, 32.

The man was arrested by police the next day and faces a laundry list of charges, including break and enter, assault with a weapon, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, sexual assault on person under 16 years, sexual interference with person under 16 years, invitation to sexual touching, uttering threats to cause death and uttering threats to cause harm to an animal.

The OPP arrested the man on the strength of the Cornwall charges and turned the man over to city police. He was held for a bail hearing.

His name was not released as it may identify the victim in the matter.
