CORNWALL, Ontario – Local artist Low Budget is trying to build a community for those who want to get into the music industry.

Every Thursday at The Hangover Bar Low Budget is inviting young rappers and hip-hop artists to come, learn, and practice their skills.

“This is to bring local artists together and help have a place to perform,” said Low Budget. “I’m building a community to keep kids and young adults off the streets and focus on music.”

Low Budget said that he was even open to helping up-and-coming artists record some of their music using his own recording equipment.

“This is not about competing against one another, its about competing against the music industry,” he said. “I want to inspire people to get on stage.”

Low Budget himself has performed in the I am Canadian tour and in So you think you can Rap Canada.

Low Budget says that the events are open to everyone 19 and older and begin after 9 p.m. at The Hangover Bar.
