CORNWALL, Ontario – After over 20 years as a promoter, Alkaline Entertainment’s Jeff Brunet is still making plenty of noise in the Cornwall area music scene.
“As long as I’m around, this city won’t be bored,” said Brunet, sporting a leather jacket, blue jeans, and long, disheveled hair, in an interview with Seaway News on Wednesday (Feb. 24).
The longtime promoter is bringing a series of classic rock concerts and tribute acts to local venues, and beyond.
“It’s an exciting time for Alkaline Entertainment,” said Brunet, who started as a roadie and eventually moved to Ottawa, booking gigs for a bar called Barrymore’s. “All the shows I’ve been doing at the Royal Canadian Legion in Cornwall have been selling out and doing really well.”
Brunet has booked several huge performers in Cornwall over the years, including Nazereth, Glass Tiger, Rick Emmit, Big Sugar, and Alice Cooper, to name a few.
“I’m known for tribute bands, but I book headliners, too,” said Brunet, who is also the founder of Cornstalk. “I’m really excited to be bringing Michel Pagliaro here in May, thanks to LCVEvents.com. It’s a great kick-starter to a lot of shows that will be coming to the civic complex salons.”
