CORNWALL, Ontario – On Dec. 7 Rachel’s Kids House of Hope and Kids Korner held their second annual Toy Dash.

Four children who have had a difficult year, whether it be for medical or other reasons, were invited to Kids Korner and were given 10 minutes and an empty shopping cart to get all that their hearts desired for this Christmas.

“With the help of their families and siblings, the children were given 10 minutes, an empty shopping cart and carte blanche of the whole store. They “dashed” through the store and picked out any toy that caught their eye until their carts were filled to the top. Rachel’s Kids along with Kid’s Korner split the bill of their purchases,” Dr. Rachel Navaneelan, founder and chair of Rachel’s Kids said, “It’s such an incredible feeling to be here and watch the look of wonder on their faces as they run through the store grabbing their favourite toys as fast as they can,” She continued. “These kids have gone through unimaginable suffering for being so young. We want to help them forget about any struggles their going through and simply enjoy the magic of Christmas.”
