CORNWALL, Ontario – A 27-year-old Long Sault man was arrested on Dec. 17, 2019 and charged with the following:
* Forcible confinement
* Sexual assault x 4
* Domestic assault x 6
* Threats x 6
* Breach of undertaking x 5 (for contacting his ex-girlfriend)
It is alleged throughout 2018 and 2019, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend on six occasions. The man also is alleged to have sexually assaulted her on four occasions and made multiple threats to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Dec. 17, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended L’Original as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and transported to Cornwall to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
