WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Brennan Johnsen-Thompson, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on August 1st, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on July 13th, 2023, the man failed to attend court for a mischief offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 1st, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 12th, 2023.

 

WARRANT, BREACH

 Cornwall, ON – Kyle Shaver, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on August 1st, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with breach of undertaking for changing addresses and failing to notify police, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 17th, 2023, the man failed to attend court for a breach of probation offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 1st, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on August 15th, 2023.

 

IMPORT SCHEDULE II SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE II SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME OVER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Amber Bernard, 31, of Edmundston, NB was arrested on August 1st, 2023 and charged with importing a Schedule II substance, possession of a Schedule II substance and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged on August 1st, 2023, while stopped at the Canadian Port of Entry, the woman was found to be in possession of a quantity of illicit cannabis and Canadian currency. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 21st, 2023.

 

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING PEDESTRIAN

Cornwall, ON – On August 1, 2023 at approximately 11:30 am, the Cornwall Police Service was called to investigate a motor vehicle collision in the area of Pescod Street and Peter Avenue. During the investigation, it was learned a vehicle had collided with a 6-year-old youth in the area. The youth was transported to the hospital, sustaining serious injuries; however, non-life-threatening in nature.
