CORNWALL & SDG, Ontario – Several individuals local to our region ranked on the 2018 Sunshine List (Public Sector Salary Disclosure List).
The list, released on Wednesday, March 27, displays the names and salaries of public sector workers in Ontario that earned an income of $100,000 or greater last year. The names and salaries were submitted by each according organization. Aside from total annual income, values such as bonuses and/or wage increases were not made available with the list.
This article focuses on the income of some public-sector workers, including those of municipal governments and community agencies, as well as healthcare facilities. The following is an overview of the top wage earners according to these classifications:
The City of Cornwall saw 70 staff members on the 2018 Sunshine List. The top five wage earners are as follows:

John St. Marseille, GM Infrastructure and Municipal Works – $161, 582

The Chief of Cornwall Fire Services Pierre Voisine is among the 70 employees noted, earning $144, 006 in 2018, as well as the Chief of Cornwall Paramedic Services Bill Lister with an income of $133, 401.
Cornwall Community Police Services (CPS) saw 68 officers on the 2018 Sunshine List, with the top five earners as follows:

The Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) saw 72 employees on the list this year with Jeanette Despatie, President and CEO, earning the highest wages at $317, 229. The Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) saw 18 employees on the list with Cholly Boland, Chief Executive Officer, earning the highest wages at $245, 083. Nine employees of St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre made the list, with Gizanne Lafrance-Allaire, Executive Director, earning most at $157, 648.
