CORNWALL, Ontario – The iconic centre span of the high-level Seaway International Bridge in Cornwall comes down Wednesday.
Well, probably.
Officials with the Federal Bridge Corporation said Tuesday the span will be lowered to the ground in an operation to last about six hours, weather permitting.
“If today’s rain forecast slows down the preparation work, the operation will be postponed to Thursday morning,” Andre Girard, spokesperson for the bridge corporation, said in a blog post Tuesday.
An updated schedule is expected before the end of the day.
The centre span will be lowered to the ground and then cut up.
