Cornwall man allegedly assaults store security, tries to flee in stolen car

CORNWALL, Ontario – Richard Marini, 54, of Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 27, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

It is further alleged on Nov. 27, 2018, the man attended a Second St. business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. The man was subsequently stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer, who he then assaulted and attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
