Sherry Mowat has no direct connection to Dundas Manor Long-Term Care Home but she believes in supporting health care close to home. As the owner of Sherry’s Store in Williamsburg, she is definitely doing that!
Sherry’s store is one of many local businesses who are stepping up to be part of the Dundas Manor Business Blitz by supporting the campaign to build the new Dundas Manor – and encouraging their customers to do the same. They are displaying information and accepting donations. Some are also hosting events or making a matching gift to the campaign.
“I’m participating in the Business Blitz because I believe in the hospital and Dundas Manor,” says Sherry. “We are all going to be seniors some day and we want the best services to be available for us and our families.”
A big part of the blitz is the new Tap-To-Give kiosks. Tap-To-Give is secure and donors can use debit cards, credit cards or digital wallets to give. No information is stored in the devices. Personal information is encrypted and transferred via a private network. To support the new Dundas Manor, you can simply tap to give in more than 20 businesses across the region.
“The display is right in the middle of our store. You can’t miss it!” says Sherry. “And we have more fundraising plans in the work too.” Sherry is adding a donation jar at the cash and will be matching all donations dollar-for-dollar. She is also organizing a raffle, with a beautiful quilt being donated by her sister.
