Premier, party leaders in Cornwall next week for Ontario chamber conference

CORNWALL, Ontario – Premier Kathleen Wynne will be in Cornwall next week to take part in the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s annual general meeting.

The OCC confirmed the news on its website.

The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 2015 Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) AGM and Convention.

The event, which will bring over 200 business leaders from across Ontario to Cornwall, is seen as an outstanding opportunity to showcase the community and the many things it has to offer.

Representing 60,000 members in chambers of commerce and boards of trade across Ontario, the OCC supports economic growth in the province by advocating for pro-business policies and defending business priorities at Queen’s Park.

“(Cornwall chamber executive manager Lezlie Strasser) and her team have made a rock-solid business case for her community,” said Allan O’Dette, president and CEO of the OCC, when the date and location for the 2015 event was announced. “We are excited to learn first-hand about what makes Cornwall such an attractive destination to live and do business.”

The event runs April 30 to May 3 at the Nav Centre.

Wynne will be joining the event for the opening night social on the evening of Thursday, April 30.

NDP leader Andrea Horwath will also attend the conference as will interim Tory leader Jim Wilson.
