SD&G – A 45-year-old man was arrested for drug-impaired driving after a single-vehicle crash in South Stormont.

SD&G OPP say they were called to a collision at the intersection of County Road 15 and Coutny Road 36 at 4:30 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 5).

The driver, Frederico Belmonte, of South Stormont, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs and fail to comply with recognizance.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing at a Cornwall courthouse.

Suspicious vehicle check leads to arrest

SOUTH GLENGARRY – A Cornwall man is facing impaired driving charges after SD&G OPP were alerted of a suspicious vehicle parked at the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) scales on Highway 401 in South Glengarry on Saturday (Feb. 6).

The driver, Alain Labelle, was arrested and charged with care or control of a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol and care or control of a motor vehicle with more than 80 Milligrams of alcohol in blood.

The 46-year-old man was released and scheduled to appear at a Cornwall courthouse in February.
