CORNWALL, Ontario – The United Way announced their newly appointed Director of Operations, Meagan Bingley, and their 2018-2019 Community Campaign Chair, Angie Baker, on Wednesday, Aug. 1.

Bingley, who has 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, also acted as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce in the past. She has volunteer experience with numerous organizations. Bingley hopes to get younger people involved with upcoming volunteer efforts.

“To say that I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work for the United Way would be an understatement,” said Bingley in a press release. “This isn’t something that I usually share; but growing up I went through some tough times. I have witnessed first-hand what it is like to struggle to make ends meet. This experience has given me an increased drive to help others.”

Bingley is looking forward to working alongside Angie Baker, the 2018-2019 Community Campaign Chair.

Baker, who was born and raised in Cornwall, has spearheaded many crucial fundraising initiatives for local charities, including events for Children’s Treatment Centre, Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation and the United Way.

“I have been affiliated with the United Way Centraide of SD& G in some form or another for over 25 years,” said Baker in a press release. “I truly believe in the work the United Way…funded agencies do in our community and am honoured to have been chosen as the years’ United Way…Campaign Chair.”
