CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall teen Donovan Pilon recently competed in the National Darts Federation of Canada 2019 Youth World Cup Qualifier in Saskatoon, SK, on the weekend of May 18, 2019.

Pilon had a great start to the tournament on Thursday, May 16 when he won the Junior Boys Bursary Shoot, bringing home the $1,000 prize money which will go towards his post secondary education.

The next day, he and his partner Zach Van Vilet won the Junior Boys Doubles event.

On Saturday, May 18, Donovan came in third in the boys single event, but won the World Cup Qualifier event. He will be joining three other youths on the boys Canadian Youth National Team when they go to the World’s tournament which will be held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania from Oct. 7-12.

Pilon continued to find success the next day, helping Team Ontario win the Nodor Cup, coming in second in mixed doubles with his partner Jamie Connors and winning the World Masters Qualifier. Pilon will be going to England in late October to compete in the Winmau World Masters tournament.

“We will be doing numerous fundraisers to help with the costs to travel as well as accommodations for both Romania and England throughout the summer to send Donovan on his way to represent Canada,” said his mother Natalie Pilon.
