St. Joes Panthers player Alex Galarneau gets ready to celebrate with his team after the Charity Bowl against Holy Trinity on Thursday

CORNWALL, Ontario – For the fourth year in a row, the St. Joseph’s Secondary School Panthers took home a win at the Charity Bowl.

The Panthers faced off against the Holy Trinity Falcons at Joe St. Denis field, with kickoff taking place a little after 6 p.m.

The game got out to a rocky start for the Falcons after their starting quarterback was taken off the field early in the first quarter with an undisclosed injury.

The game was actually a strong back-and-forth with both teams grabbing interceptions in the first quarter, however, the Panthers offense was slowly able to grind down the Falcons.

By the beginning of the third quarter, the Panthers had pulled ahead with two touchdowns, but the Falcons were able to put up six points of their own after a short running play in the Red Zone, however, they missed the point after kick.

The final score saw the Panthers come out on top of the Falcons 24-6.

Despite the stiff competition and the cold weather on Thursday night, the game was wel attended by energetic and excited fans from both schools.
