GALLINGER, Harold Herbert - Passed away peacefully at Winchester District Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side, on Sunday, July 5, 2015. Harold Herbert Gallinger of Williamsburg, formerly of Morrisburg in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Helen (née Jannack) (1997). Dear brother of Lyle of Williamsburg. BEAUMONT, Raymond William - Mr. Ray Beaumont passed away at St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the age of 73 years. DE WIT, Henricus (Harry) - Entered into rest at Cornwall Hospice on July 2, 2015, surrounded by his family at the age of 81. Harry de Wit, of St. Andrews West, Ontario, born in Oosteind, N.B., Netherlands, and immigrated to Canada in 1955. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maria (nee Ooyens). Proud father of Bill (Debbie) and Eddy (Brigitte). Cherished Opa of Willy de Wit (Melissa), Jessica Lefebvre (Mathieu), Alex de Wit (Sascha Fields), Kelsey de Wit (Mark Stuckless), Byron de Wit and Elissa de Wit. RING, Allison (Al) - Allison Weldon Ring, age 93 years, passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph's Continuing Care in Cornwall, Ontario on Monday, June 22, 2015. Born in Dartmouth, April 3, 1922, Al was raised in the loving Nova Scotia home of Percy Francis Ring, and Emile (Waterfield) with four brothers, Reg, Tib, Charlie and Don, all of whom have predeceased him. He is also predeceased by his wife Lorraine and nephew David Ring. He is survived by his daughter Joyce Ring-Kaneshiro of Chicago and sister-in-law Jean Horne Ring of Dartmouth. Al was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful laugh and terrific smile. In his teens, Al was a Maritime canoe champion winning all short and long distance events and twice winning the Art Weston long distance trophy. Al also won C-4 and War Canoe events with other Banook paddlers including, and especially, his younger brother Don. Al won the Thompson trophy for boys' swimming. He also competed in platform diving, hockey, golf, and like all of Percey's boys, ran track with the DBCA. Al volunteered with the military in 1940, joining the Princess Louise Fusiliers, served in Europe where he fought mainly in Italy and Belgium, before liberating the Netherlands. He lived six months with a family in Holland waiting to come home. Later in life he had the opportunity to return to the Netherlands to visit his host family. In 1951, Al joined Transport Canada Meteorology Service completing his training in Goose Bay before being assigned to Halifax; Streeter, Illinois; as well as developing a weather observing system in Dominica. Streeter, Illinois is where he met his wife Lorraine and where their daughter Joyce was born. In Streeter, he worked on the Dewline Project, a distant early warning system across the Canadian North where he trained personnel on weather observing and reporting. He also served as an instructor in meteorology with Transport Canada Training Institute in Ottawa and Cornwall, Ontario until his retirement in 1985. Al Ring, or Uncle Al will be fondly remembered by family Dennis (Donn Sabean), Deb, Janet (Peter Randall), Bruce (Janice Glenn), Mark (Anne), Barry (Kathleen Sorenson), Bob (Diane), Betty-Lou (Robin Hemeon), Bill (Nancy), Suzanne, Jim (Bev), Everett (Janet), Dawna (Doug Tupper) and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by many friends, especially Larry and Lorraine Sharron and Roy Tyo. Al will rest in the Beechwood National Military Cemetery in Ottawa, where family and friends will privately meet to celebrate his life. Jeanne Virginie Bard (née St-Pierre) March 12, 1920 - June 17, 2015. Our beloved mother Jeanne passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years in Calgary, Alberta. She was born in Russell, Ontario. She lived most of her life in Glen Walter and Cornwall. She resided in Calgary for the past 9 years. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Armand in 2006, her son Roger in 2014, her grandson Daniel in 2012 and her six brothers and four sisters. Jeanne was the loving mother of Roger (Mary), Claude (Betty Anne), Suzanne (Jim), Monique, Denise, Gerald (Talia), Maurice, Annette (Gene) and Louise (Darren). Jeanne had 16 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. We will always remember her for her 'joie de vivre', her love of board games and cards, her wonderful culinary skills, especially her famous pies, doughnuts and preserves. She was also a great seamstress, nurturer and teacher. The family would like to thank the nurturing and loving caregivers, the nursing staff and the many volunteers at Carewest Signal Pointe nursing home in Calgary for their attentiveness and loving touch. OUDERKIRK, Lyall Johnson - September 9, 1938 - June 14, 2015 - Local dairy farmer and long time sports volunteer, Lyall, passed away at his home in Finch on Sunday June 14, 2015 with his devoted partner of over 50 years, Doreen Scarbo by his side. 'Yogi', as he was known to so many, was recognized by the premier of Ontario for his committment to a number of sports teams over the years, specifically hockey and broomball. Up until his very last day, Lyall continued to manage his farm in Berwick, doing the work of a man many years his junior. He was committed to caring for his cattle and loved his faithful dogs. Lyall was always ready for a game of eucher, and he and Doreen made a formidable pair at the card table. Lyall is survived by his partner Doreen; his girls Joanne Thompson, Donna Cottrell, Betty Gauthier (Denis), Judi MacLean (Bill), Lucy Gilson (Bob); his brothers and sisters Melvin Ouderkirk (Jessie), Edith Burd, Dalton Ouderkirk, Betty Ouderkirk and was loved by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and neices, nephews and grand neices and nephews.
