GRANT, Donald 'Bruce' - After a very courageous battle with cancer it is with heavy hearts that we mourn Bruce's passing. Predeceased by his parents Calvin and Grace Grant and his brother Bob. LEICHT, Friedrich "Fritz" - February 3, 1940 - April 14, 2014 - Fritz, beloved husband, partner, and best friend of Mary (nee Finlay). Dear son of the late Friedrich Leicht and Josefa Leicht (nee Mueller). Brother of the late Otto Leicht. His love of politics, hockey, "Olde" cars, and a good time; as well as his dedication to, and skilled hard work for his many customers over the years will long be remembered. MACDONALD, Lois Baker - After 93 wonderful years, our beautiful and gracious mother, Lois Baker Macdonald, died gently at home in Toronto, ON on Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was the cherished wife of the late Major General Bruce F. Macdonald, DSO, CD, Croix de Guerre, and the only child of the late Dr. and Mrs. J.O. Baker of Edmonton, Alberta, where she was born on November 4th, 1920. SHANE, Hugh John Stewart - ASDC, FSDC, passed away on Saturday, April 12th, 2014, age 79 years, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on June 12th, 1934, Hugh emigrated to Canada with his family in 1967, then relocated to Florida in 1996. He is survived by his loving wife Hilary, daughters Lesley and Rhonda (husband Jamey), son Bryan (wife Shawna) and grandchildren Christopher, Kathleen and Colin. Hugh was an alumnus of the Belfast Royal Academy, an Associate and a Fellow of the Society of Dyers and Colourists and acquired eight chemistry patents within North America. An avid yachtsman, kayaker, cyclist, pilot, diver, sportsman and member of the Anglican Church community; Hugh had a boundless zeal for life and adventure. Hugh personified integrity, generosity, humility and devotion and will be remembered as a true gentleman. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. BELMORE, Eugenie (Jennie) (O'Byrn) - "Jennie", beloved wife of Harold Belmore, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in her 87th year, after a valiant 10 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Maude O'Byrn (Julien), son Jim Belmore, brothers Herman (Jean), Daniel (Mary), and her sister Beatrice Kyer. She leaves behind her sisters Ernestine O'Byrn and Florestine Lauzon. She was Mother to Catherine, Susan (Carter) Kingston, Helen, Jeoffrey (Ginny), and Christopher (Lise), and her large extended family of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jennie loved Harold and her children first and foremost. She was selfless in her devotion to Christ and served faithfully in St. Columban's Parish. At Harold's request, the family and friends will gather in Cornwall at a later date for a Celebration of Life. The family is very grateful to Christie Gardens, which became community and home for her over the past 10 years and provided exceptional Palliative Care in her final days. BOWNESS, William Walter (Bill) - of Monkland, Ontario. Passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 after an extended illness, age 71 years. He leaves his loving wife of 46 years, Sandra Bowness (née Selleck). Bill is survived and missed by his two children: Suzanne Bowness and Robert Bowness. CURTIS, Bernard James - of West Kelowna, B.C., formerly of Cornwall, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the age of 96 years. He was predeceased in 2003 by his beloved wife Ellen and is survived by his children, Bernard (Marie), Kenneth, Gail Querat (Richard) and Brenda Curtis (David Emond); 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bernard married his childhood sweetheart, Ellen Bentley, in 1940 in Vancouver, B.C. He served in the R.C.A.F during WWII after which he pursued a teaching career in Ontario. From 1961 to 1982 he was technical director at St. Lawrence H.S., General Vanier S.S. and Tagwi S.S. After his retirement in 1982 he moved to Westbank, B.C. where he was fully engaged by his hobbies of rock collecting and silver and goldsmithing. He will be dearly missed

WARNER, Norman - December 23, 1943-April 1, 2014 - Norman peacefully left us on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at the age of 70. He was fortunate in having very loving parents Elleda (née Stanley) and Douglas Warner. Norman is survived by his son Michael, daughter-in-law Steffi, former wife Elizabeth, brother John and his family Shirley, Sebastian and Miranda. Norman Warner Insurance Brokers were located in Cornwall, Ingleside, Avonmore and Maxville. He was President of the Cornwall and Area Insurance Brokers Assoc., President of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce and Director of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. While President of the local Chamber of Commerce, Norman was the founder of the Cornwall Multi-Cultural Festival. In 1984, Norman was elected to the House of Commons and sat on the Finance Committee as a member of federal parliament. He started running at the age of 60, and over the next 10 years, he completed 14 marathons, 3 ultra-marathons and dozens of other races. Norman was awarded the Cornwall Multisport Club Male Runner of the Year 2010. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held in the First Baptist Church, 310 York Street, Cornwall on Monday April 7, 2014 at 3:00 PM. Pastor Randy McCooeye celebrating.
