CORNWALL, Ontario – Ali Mire, 32, of Ottawa was arrested on April 10, 2019 and charged with the following:
- Assault police with a weapon
- Assault police
- Theft under $5,000
- Threats
- Breach of probation (for being outside his residence with alcohol in his body and for failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged on April 10, 2019, the man attended a Brookdale Ave. business and removed bottles of liquor, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and located the intoxicated man, at which time he threw a bottle at a police officer and made threats to harm the officer. The man was taken into custody and later spat on another officer. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
