MISCHIEF

 Cornwall, ON – Amanda Dugas, 32, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 19, 2024, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged in between March 31, 2024, and April 7, 2024, the woman damaged the property of an individual known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 19, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 21, 2024.

 

WARRANT

 Cornwall, ON – Padocia Cornelius, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 19, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on April 2, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On April 19, 2024, while police were dealing with a separate matter, the woman was located. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on May 16, 2024.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 19, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Domestic assault causing bodily harm
  • Domestic assault with a weapon
  • Two counts of domestic assault

It is alleged on April 18, 2024, the man assaulted his spouse with an object causing injuries. It is also alleged he assaulted her on more than one other occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 19, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 19, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of domestic assault
  • Forcible confinement
  • Criminal harassment

It is alleged on April 18, 2024, the man assaulted his spouse and prevented her from leaving the residence. It is also alleged he assaulted her on other separate occasions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 19, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – Bradley Churchill, 43, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 19, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Dec. 22, 2023, the man stole several items from an individual known to him. It is also alleged on Jan. 31, 2024, the man stole items from the same individual. Furthermore, it is alleged, on Feb. 15, 2024, the man stole an item from the same individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest. On April 19, 2024, while police were dealing with a separate matter, the man was located. The warrant was executed and he was charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on May 30, 2024.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Thomas Huffman, 47, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 20, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on April 20, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on May 30, 2024.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 20, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged the youth was scheduled to attend court on Feb. 29, 2024, and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On April 20, 2024, while police were dealing with a separate matter, the youth was located. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

FAIL TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT, IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Todd Witteveen, 23, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 20, 2024, and charged with fail to stop after an accident and impaired operation, over 80. On April 20, 2024, police responded to an impaired driving call and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on April 20, 2024, the man was operating his motor vehicle and damaged another individual’s property as well as the person’s motor vehicle. It is also alleged he left the scene of the accident. Police located the man and the investigation revealed he was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 16, 2024.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Eric Dumouchel, 36, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 20, 2024, and charged with impaired operation, over 80. It is alleged on April 20, 2024, the man was observed driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 16, 2024.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Ian Pyper, 40, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 21, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged between April 11, 2024, and April 17, 2024, the man failed to report to a probation officer and failed to attend and actively participate in all assessment, counselling or rehabilitative programs as directed by the probation officer. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 21, 2024, while dealing with a separate matter, police located the man. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on May 30, 2024.

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 21, 2024, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on April 17, 2024, the youth threatened to assault another individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 21, 2024, he was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Matthew Benedict, 40, of Hogansburg, NY, was arrested on April 21, 2024, and charged with impaired operation, over 80 and operation while prohibited. It is alleged on April 21, 2024, the man attended the Port of Entry and was investigated by Canada Border Services Agency officers for operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was turned over to members of the CPS and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was also operating the motor vehicle while prohibited to do so. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 16, 2024.
