Did you know that the Great Solar Eclipse Day proved to be a positive experience for those of us living in the Cornwall, SDG, Akwesasne area. Cornwall Square enjoyed a banner day traffic-wise as the limits of our parking garage and the mall washrooms were put to the test. Kudos to the maintenance staff, the Food Hall attendants, and the security team for dealing with the overwhelming influx of participants in the City of Cornwall’s Solar Eclipse event at Lamoureux Park coming over to the mall. I am certain that the Food Hall restaurants were pleased with their Monday sales.
Did you know that “Mega Bunny and the 3 Bees”, no, not the latest rock band to come to Cornwall but our mall décor foursome, left town over the weekend since they could no longer hang around as the spring sunshine was causing them to lose weight and suffer from the dreaded balloon disease known as “Reduced Air Content” better known as “RAC”. We thank Katie Hope of Balloon Babes for her creative efforts in introducing us to Mega Bunny and the 3 Bees.
Just a reminder that in 12 days, Cornwall Square will celebrate the beginning of “Cornwall Motor Speedway Days”. The vehicles will be on display throughout the main level of the mall during Mall Hours on Friday April 26th from 9:30am to 7:00pm, Saturday April 27th from 9:30am to 5:30pm and on Sunday April 28th from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Raymond Lavergne and the Cornwall Motor Speedway team are planning some on-site events during the 3-day period. More details will appear next week as the final details of this event get settled.
Did you know that Cornwall Square’s Marketplace is available for vendor markets hosted by third party promoters? It is also available for independent vendors, crafters and artisans who are looking for an indoor venue to sell their product. The space is also available for job fairs, community group exhibits and fund-raising events. Did you know that Mother’s Day is less than one month away, on Sunday May 12th . If you intend to participate in the Cornwall Square’s “My Mom is the Best Because…..” Essay Contest of 50 words or less, you may want to start thinking about why your mom is The Best. Please, only one entry per person and entries can be deposited in the mailbox that will be located at the perimeter of the display. Judging will be done on Monday May 13th and the 3 prize winners will be contacted to come and pick up their prize and have their photo taken. This year, prizes will be awarded to the top three entries regardless of the age of the party submitting the entry.
