CORNWALL & SDG, Ontario – Over 30 locations participated in the highly anticipated Apples & Art tour this weekend, from September 28 to 29, across Cornwall and SDG.

“This is definitely our busiest weekend of the year,” said Emily MacLeod, co-Owner of Cline House Gallery. MacLeod said that her studio has been participating in the tour for as long as she can remember and this weekend drew a number of visitors from out of town.

Artists who work with all mediums participated in the event, displaying and selling jewellery, paintings, drawings, sculptures, glasswork, graffiti and more from a set location or their homes.

Betty Carter-Edwards, CCVS teacher, was outside of the Cornwall Public Library with students from grades 9 to 12 who were creating live art as part of the tour on Sunday, Sept. 29.

“The CCVS art club is creating a monster inspired mural to help promote the event and draw people in to see other artists as well,” said Carter-Edwards.

“There’s so many artists and it’s so fun to come out and see,” said MacLeod. “It’s good to have a map…I’m interested to see how big it can get because it grows every year.”
