CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada is warning residents of Cornwall and SD&G to expect freezing rain starting Sunday afternoon and going into the evening.
“Periods of freezing rain are expected to develop Sunday afternoon and persist well into the evening,” the Weather Warning reads. “Temperatures will slowly rise through the afternoon and evening which will change the freezing rain over to rain Sunday evening in most places.”
“However, areas near the Ottawa Valley will likely take longer to rise above the freezing mark,” the warning adds. “These areas could see the freezing rain persist into Sunday night.”
Drivers are warned to be wary on the roads and to avoid any unnecessary driving.
