CORNWALL, Ontario – Wear the wildly colourful and outlandish costumes without having to keep a secret identity or fight crime at Cornwall’s Tiny Convention (CoTiCon) on Saturday, August 30.

Summerstown resident Annie DeRochie, 17, has taken on the heroic task of creating CoTiCon as part of the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre (CBEC) Summer Company youth entrepreneurial program.

After visiting multiple conventions in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal, dedicated to anime, comic books, cinema, and video games, DeRochie wanted the experience a little bit closer.

The family-friendly convention is geared towards youth and teens, but the young at heart are more than welcome to join in on the fun.

Admission is $25.

“It’s an event mostly for geek culture,” said DeRochie.

CoTiCon will feature a masquerade, gaming, video screening, popular cosplayers Em and MDA, skits, panels, over 20 exhibitors, plenty of artists, and a light lunch.

The convention runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Anyone interested in participating in the event as an exhibitor, artist or sponsor, e-mail: coticonvention@gmail.com.
