SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – The Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) in partnership with TD Bank Group held their annual TD Trees Day at Gray’s Creek in South Glengarry on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019.
The event saw dozens of volunteers turnout to plant 300 trees along the bank of the St. Lawrence River.
All the trees that were planted were native to the area and some species included maple trees, spruce trees, as well as native varieties of shrubs.
Lissa Deslandes, RRCA Community Liaison said that these trees will help create a buffer from traffic along the river bank and will also help reduce soil erosion.
