MacDONELL – James Urban

Passed away at Woodland Villa, Long Sault, Ontario, on Sunday, January 18, 2009. Mr. James Urban MacDonell of Long Sault, age 78 years. Dear brother of Anna MacDonald (late Robert) of Williamstown, Ontario and Shirley MacDonald (late Lloyd) of Lancaster, Ontario. Predeceased by his brothers, George, Duncan, Marlen, Gordon, Donald and Colin and by his sister, Jean Croll. Beloved son of the late Dan R. MacDonell and the late Ellen MacDonell (née MacDougall). Rested at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Williamstown on Jan. 22. Spring Interment, St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.

RACINE – Marcel

Passed away at the Janet Macdonell Pavilion on Sunday, January 18, 2009. Mr. Marcel Racine of Cornwall, Ontario, age 70 years. Beloved husband, best friend and soul mate of 47 years of Claudette (Delorme) Racine. Dear father of Jean Mario Racine of Cornwall and Jean Marc Racine (Claudette) of Casselman, Ontario. Loving grandfather of Jean Marc Jr., Rebecca, Colton and Jesse. Dear son of the late Ephreme Racine and the late Evangeline (Wolfe) Racine. Dear brother of Helene Dugas (late Arcade), Lorraine Rodrigue (Herman), Gabrielle Lemieux (Victor), all of Valleyfield and Bernard Racine (Agathe) of Long Sault. Predeceased by brothers Leo-Paul Racine, Rene Racine, Philip Racine, Fernand Racine and one sister, Simone Bedard. Rested at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch. A Memorial Service was held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home, West Branch on Jan. 21.

Passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009. Mrs. Judith “Judy” Glennette (Millar) Lascelle of Cornwall, Ontario, age 65 years. Beloved wife for 50 years of Paul-Emile Lascelle. Loving mother of John Lascelle (Sandra), Diana Lascelle (Steve Joncas) and Anne Lascelle (Robert Pilon), all of Cornwall. Cherished grandma of Michael, Casey, Jennifer (Chance Larocque) and Matthew Lalonde and Sherry and Johnny Lascelle and great-grandma of Brodie Larocque. Dear daughter of the late Glen Millar and the late Alice (Terriah) Miller. Dear sister of Kenny Murray (Linda), David Murray (Linda), Leslie Murray, Donny Murray, all of Cornwall, Debbie Murray of Prescott, Ontario, Kimmy Murray and Susie Johnston (Dwight), both of Cornwall. Dear daughter-in-law of the late Lucien and Leona Lascelle and dear sister-in-law of Lucille Lascelle of Montreal, Quebec, Gaston Lascelle (Carole) and Lucien Lascelle (June), both of Cornwall. Predeceased by three sisters-in-law, Frances Bourdeau, Huguette Frigault and Jackie Hickey. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rested at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, East Branch. Funeral on Jan. 22, for Service in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.

BRADLEY – Stanley (Snookie)

Passed away at the Community Nursing Home in Alexandria on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Thérèse (Terry) Bradley (née Carriere). Predeceased by one brother Earl Bradley and there sisters Ruth Stimson, Lois Fisher and Rita Graham. Dear son of the late George Bradley and the late Ellen Janet Gray. Rested at the Munro & Morris Funeral Home Ltd., Alexandria, Ontario. Funeral took place on Tuesday, January 20 with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Finnan’s Cathedral.

Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus on Friday, January 16, 2009; formerly of Cornwall at the age of 55 years. Beloved husband for 34 years of Sue (Drouin) Lilwall. Cherished father of J. Christopher Lilwall (Gini) of Orléans, Kirk Lilwall (Rebecca) of Toronto, Aline Lilwall of Ottawa and foster daughter Natasha Mayer of Cornwall. Loving grampa of Nathan. Dear son of May (Anderson) Lilwall of Kindersley, Saskatchewan and of the late David Lilwall. Dear brother of Kenneth Lilwall (Gayle) of Coleville, Saskatchewan, Cameron Lilwall (Sandy) of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and Catherine Gadzella (Gerry) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Christopher had recently retired with 35 years of service with Transport Canada/NAV Canada. Active contributing member of the Canadian Air Traffic Controller’s Association and member of R.C.A.F.A. Wing 424 (Cornwall). Funeral took place on Wednesday, January 21 in the Memorial Chapel of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes East Branch.

QUENNEVILLE – Rose (née Sarault)

Passed away peacefully at Parisien Manor on Friday, January 16, 2009; formerly of Lancaster at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Gerald A. Quenneville. Loving mother of Robert Quenneville (Claudette) of Montreal, Caroline Bourdeau (Denis) of Lancaster, Claude Quenneville (Marthe Joly) of Côteau-du-Lac, Bernadette Campeau (Normand) and Gloria Poirier both of North Lancaster, Monique Chaktoura (Elle) of Île Perrot, Thérèse Alarie (Jacques) of Valleyfield, Gisele Bombardier and Suzanne Roy (Martin) both of Cornwall. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Hubald Sarault and Josephine Lalonde as well as her brothers and sisters. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Home Ltd., Alexandria, Ontario. Funeral took place on Saturday, January 24 with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church, Lancaster.

SEGUIN – Nancy Lynn (Davis)

Passed away suddenly at her residence on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the age of 59 years. Loving wife of 29 years of Douglas Seguin. Dear mother of Angela Seguin of Montreal. Sadly missed by one granddaughter Anaka Lamb of Ireland. Survived by one sister Carole Davis of Martintown and one brother Leonard Davis (Sylvie) of Cornwall. Predeceased by her parents, Fred and Cora (Vaughn) Davis and one sister Lois Robertson. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of M. John Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home. Committal in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery, South Lancaster in the spring.

GAMMON – Edwina Lillian (née Tyers)

Passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital, Alexandria in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Gammon. Cherished godmother of Kimberly Rae. Survived by her sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Rested at the Munro & Morris Funeral Home Ltd., Alexandria, Ontario. Funeral took place on Monday, January 19 at Alexandria United Church (Church on the Hill), Alexandria. Committal at Rideau Memorial Gardens.

PALMER – Elaine

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital – McConnell Site on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the age of 54 years. Employee of Cornwall Community Police Service. Beloved wife of David Palmer. Loved mother of Rhonda Walters (Ronald) and loving stepmother to David Palmer Jr. and Melanie Palmer. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Chelsea and Addison. Predeceased by her parents Aldege and Evelyn (Ryan) Bilodeau. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

McMILLAN – Mary

Passed away at the Stone Ridge Manor, Carleton Place on Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Mrs. Mary Thérèse McMillan (née McBain) of Greenfield, Ontario, age 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Gerald McMillan. Loving mother of John McDonald (Verna) of Alberta. Predeceased by two brothers, Bernard McBain and Basil McBain and by our sisters, Kathleen Kippen, Mary Allan McIntyre, Ann Hemond and Mamie Rolland. Dear daughter of the late James McBain and the late Mamie MacDonald. Survived by three grandchildren. Rested at the Munro & Morris Funeral Home Ltd., Alexandria, Ontario. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral, Alexandria, on Jan. 16. Interment, Parish Cemetery.

ROY – Laurette (Levac)

Passed away at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre on Sunday, January 11, 2009, age 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Jean-Paul (JP) Roy (October 18, 2005). Dear mother of Madeleine, Yves, André and Guy. Predeceased by one brother, Laurent Levac and 3 sisters, Germaine (Aime Geraldeau), Claire and Elisabeth. Survived by one sister-in-law, Lilliane Brazeau. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, Genevieve, Marie-Christine, Guillaume, Mariène, Maxime, Andréanne, Julien and Michele, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Emile and Sara (Houle) Levac. Funeral Mass on Jan. 17, at Nativity Co-Cathedral, Cornwall, Ontario. Rite of Committal, St. Martin de Tours Parish Cemetery, Glen Robertson, Ontario, in the spring. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, Cornwall.
