CORNWALL, Ontario – Rachel’s Kids are helping a young two-year-old get the opportunity to have a better life.

Hayley Snyder has been diagnosed with Arthrogryposis, a rare condition that causes contracting of the joints, muscle weakness and pain.

Hayley can walk for a short time with the help of a walker. She is no stranger to medical appointments. She has strict schedules with occupational and physio therapists and as she has been receiving orthopedic treatments since she was five-days-old.

“She is a fighter and is so desperate to walk just like her big sister” said Erica Snyder, Hayley’s mom.

Hayley and her family recently found out that they have been accepted into an opportunity in Greenville, SC, where they can meet with a specialist who focuses on Arthrogryposis. They will be spending a week there to apply therapeutic strategies to help Hayley. While in the states, she will also have consultations with other specialists in Philadelphia, PA, who will help treat Hayley’s rare condition.

“When we heard about the amount of travelling required for this family to attend Hayley’s appointments we wanted to lend a “Helping Hand”” Kim Lauzon, Executive Director. “Through our initiative we were able to provide the family with gift cards to assist in alleviating some of the financial burden during their travels, allowing the family to focus on Hayley’s recovery. We are so happy we could help this deserving family”
