A 15-year-old male from Montreal has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, obstructing a peace officer and possession of break-in instruments May 20 after Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a traffic complaint involving a stolen 2022 Jeep Wrangler on Highway 401 eastbound in South Glengarry. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Youth Justice Court in Cornwall June 20.

This was one of 235 calls for service the detachment answered over the Victoria Day long weekend. Officers laid 116 provincial offences tickets and charged several impaired drivers.

Among those charged was North Glengarry resident Christian Blais,30, who was arrested while officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) program in Alexandria.

He was charged with several offences, including impaired driving, failure or refusal to comply with demand, dangerous operation of a vehicle and possession of cocaine.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria June 5.
