At a cheque presentation on August 11, 2023, in the Agape Centre’s Cloutier Community Kitchen, the Cloutier family announced a $75,000 donation to support Agape’s programs and services.

“My sister and I are both more than happy to represent our family, our dad and our mom, for what they are doing for the community,” said Julie Cloutier, “As long as a lot of people appreciate it and benefit from it that’s what we want.”

Eugene Cloutier passed away in May 2021 after a short battle with cancer. On behalf of Eugene and his late wife, Fernande Cloutier (née Longtin), the Cloutier family has made several large donations from his estate to community organizations including a $500,000 donation to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation in 2021.

“We’re having fun, we’re enjoying meeting everybody,” added Claudine Cloutier.

“The Cloutier family has had a huge impact on the Agape Centre,” shared Lisa Duprau, Executive Director of the Agape Centre, “All of the money that they have donated to us goes directly into programs that we offer in our community. Right now, we are seeing unprecedented numbers of people requiring support so this legacy that Mr. Cloutier and his wife have left is going to help a lot of people in the City.”
