CORNWALL, Ontario – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Monday, July 8 and charged with the following:
- Assault with a weapon
- Aggravated assault
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Breach of youth probation for failing to remain in her residence, and failing to keep the peace.
It is alleged the woman assaulted a 17-year-old youth known to her using a bat, causing the youth to seek medical attention for her injuries.
Police were contacted and located the woman shortly thereafter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
Her name was not released as the conditions stem from when she was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
