SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Female, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on April 11th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on April 11th, the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 18th, 2023.

ASSAULT, OBSTRUCT POLICE, CAUSE A DISTURBANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 11th, 2023 and charged with causing a disturbance, assault, and obstruct police. It is alleged during an altercation with his son on April 7th, 2023, the man assaulted the youth, while yelling and causing a disturbance outside of their residence. Police attended, at which time the man fled from police and advised his son to do the same. On April 11th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 18th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 12th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 10th, 2023, the woman assaulted her ex-boyfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On April 12th, 2023, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 2nd, 2023. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MAN CHARGED WITH 17 COUNTS OF THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Male, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on April 12th, 2023, and charged with 17 counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged between March and April 2023, the man attended a Ninth Street business on 17 occasions and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store on any occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 12th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 18th, 2023.
