CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth was arrested on April 20th, 2023, and charged with one count of criminal harassment and breach of youth probation. It is alleged that on April 18th, 2023, the youth was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On this date, the youth engaged in conduct that caused his ex-girlfriend to fear for her safety. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 20th, 2023, the youth attended police headquarters. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

DRIVING WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Male, 30, of Ingleside, was arrested on April 20th, 2023, and charged with one count of driving while prohibited. It is alleged that on April 20th, 2023, the man was bound by a court order prohibiting him from operating a motor vehicle. On April 20th, 2023, police located the male operating a motor vehicle. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 1st, 2023.

IMPAIRED BY DRUGS

Cornwall, ON – Male, 24, of Providence, Rhode Island, was arrested on April 20th, 2023, and charged with operation while impaired by drugs. It is alleged that on April 20th, 2023, the man attended the Point of Entry to enter Canada, and was taken into custody by Border Services officers for being operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs. Police were contacted and a further investigation ensued. He was turned over to police custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Two 14-year-old youths were arrested on April 20th, 2023, and charged with one count of mischief under $5000. It is alleged that on April 20th, 2023, the two youths attended a Water Street business and set a garbage can on fire. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on a later date. Their names were not released as per the provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Female, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 20th, 2023, and charged with breach of probation and one count of theft under $5000. It is alleged that on April 20th, 2023, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On this date, it is alleged that the woman attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without attempting to pay for it. She was stopped by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer, police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on May 18th, 2023.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – Male, 39, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 21st, 2023, and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that on April 20th, 2023, the man assaulted another individual, causing a physical injury. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on May 23, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on April 21st, 2023, and charged with one count of assault and breach of probation. It is alleged that on April 21st, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged that on this date, the man assaulted his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
