ATTEMPTED THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON – On January 31st, 2023, police were contacted in regards to a suspicious vehicle in the west end that was stopping and looking vehicles in driveways. Police located the vehicle occupied by four individuals and an investigation ensued. Upon completion of the investigation, police located auto master keys, break in tools, a quantity of money, fake identification, and an edged weapon. The four individuals were taken into custody and charged as follows;

  • Male, 19, of Lachine, Quebec, was charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of break in instruments, four counts of possession of automobile master key, and possession of property obtained by crime.
  • Male, 19, of no fixed address, was charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of break in instruments, four counts of possession of automobile master key, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of a weapon.
  • Male, 22, of Lachine, Quebec, was charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of break in instruments, four counts of possession of automobile master key, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of an identity document.
  • Male, 19, of Lachine, Quebec, was charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of break in instruments, four counts of possession of automobile master key, and possession of property obtained by crime.

All four men were held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Female, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 31st, 2023, and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on January 27th, 2023, the woman attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 31st, 2023, the woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on March 9th, 2023.

WARRANT, POSESSION OVER 30 GRAMS OF CANNABIS

Cornwall, ON – Female, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 31st, 2023, on the strength of an outstanding warrant, and charged with over 30 grams of cannabis. It is alleged that on January 3rd, 2023, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so, a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 31st, 2023, the man was located in Lancaster and turned over to Cornwall Police. The warrant was executed. During the arrest, a quantity of cannabis over 30 grams was located in the man’s possession. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
