SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Male, 36, of Peterborough, Ontario, was arrested on January 27th, 2023, and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on January 27th, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without making an attempt to pay for it. He was taken into custody by the store’s loss prevention officer and police were contacted. An investigation ensued. He was taken into police custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on March 9th, 2023.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Male, 21, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 27th, 2023, and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on January 27th, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on March 14th, 2023.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – Male, 38, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 28th, 2023, and charged with one count of break and enter. It is alleged that on January 18th, 2023, the man entered a residence of someone known to him and removed a quantity of items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 28th, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on March 9th, 2023.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Male, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 29th, 2023, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged that on January 29th, 2023, the man was operating a motor vehicle and stopped by police for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed the man was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2023.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Female, 32, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 30th, 2023, and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged that on December 16th, 2022, the woman was bound by an appearance notice to attend police headquarters to be fingerprinted. She failed to do so and an investigation ensued. On January 30th, 2023, the woman was located during an unrelated matter, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear on February 23rd, 2023.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old person was arrested on January 29th, 2023, and charged with mischief under $5000, and breach of release order. It is alleged that on October 23rd, 2022, the young person caused damage to an interior wall of a residence. Furthermore, it is alleged that on the 27th of January, 2023, the young person was bound by a release order with the relevant condition not to harass or berate another person known to this individual. On this date, the young person engaged in harassing conduct against the person listed in the release order and police were contacted. An investigation ensued. The young person was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear at a later date. The name of the young person was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING

Cornwall, ON – Male, 20, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 30th, 2023, and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, and unlawfully in a dwelling. It is alleged that on January 30th, 2023, the man assaulted another party using an edged weapon and attempted to gain entry to that person’s residence after they evaded him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
