PUBLIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Female, 36, of Cornwall, was arrested on March 13th, 2023, and charged with one count of public mischief. It is alleged that on December 19th, 2022, the woman provided a statement to police that resulted in an investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, it was revealed that the statement she provided was false. On March 13th, 2023, the woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Male, 21, of Cornwall, was arrested on March 13th, 2023, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged that on December 15th, 2021, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters to be fingerprinted and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Furthermore, it is alleged that on May 12th, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 13th, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to address the matters. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.

BREAK AND ENTER, RESIST ARREST, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Male, 43, of Cornwall, was arrested on March 13th, 2023, and charged with once count of break and enter, resist arrest, and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on March 13th, 2023, the man was bound two probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged that the man attempted to break into a garage. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located and when placed under arrest, the man resisted. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old female was arrested on March 13th, 2023, and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on February 10th, 2023, the youth punched a person known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 13th, 2023, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released –  as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER

Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old man, of Akwesasne, was arrested on March 14th, 2023, and charged with three counts of breach of release order. It is alleged that on March 14th, 2023, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to stay out the City of Cornwall unless for court purposes, not contact his ex-girlfriend, and not to be within 100 meters of where she lives. On this date, it is alleged that the man was at his ex-girlfriends residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in his outstanding court matters.
