DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 16th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend on December 25th, 2022, the man assaulted her and police were contacted. On March 16th, 2023, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 4th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS, UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING

Cornwall, ON – Male, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on March 16th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. He was also charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling. It is alleged on October 27th, 2022, the man brandished a knife at someone he did not know. It is further alleged the man had breached his probation order by failing to report to his probation officer, failing to notify a change of address and failing to live at an approved address. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest. On March 16th, 2023, the man entered a residence without having permission to be inside. Police attended and took him into custody on the strength of the warrants and charged him accordingly. He was held in custody to await a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man of no-fixed-address was arrested on March 16th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on February 22nd, 2023, the man attended his mother’s residence, where he assaulted her, used a phone to strike her, and  made further threats to harm her and damage her vehicle. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 16th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
