CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Morrisburg man was arrested on March 17th, 2023 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged between October 2022 and March 2023, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-wife, despite being warned to stop. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 17th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 4th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Male, 45, of Ottawa was arrested on March 17th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on February 7th, 2023, the man failed to attend court for multiple offences and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 17th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Male, 59, of Cornwall was arrested on March 17th, 2023 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an altercation with someone known to him, the man threw a glass bottle at the individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.

POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Female, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on March 17th, 2023 and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged during a traffic stop on March 17th, 2023, the woman was observed to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and Canadian currency. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Male, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on March 17th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on March 14th, 2023, the man failed to attend court for a threats offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 14th, 2023, the man was located during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Male, 29, of no-fixed-address was arrested on March 17th, 2023 and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breach of release order for failing to reside at a certain residence and failing to notify a change of address to police. It is alleged while police were investigating an unrelated matter on March 16th, 2023, it was learned the man had changed his address and failed to notify police. On March 17th, 2023, police located the man during a traffic stop and found him to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Female, 33, of Limoges, QC was arrested on March 17th, 2023 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on March 17th, 2023, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Ninth Street. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 11th, 2023.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 18th, 2023 and charged with breach of release order for failing to abide by her condition to follow house rules. It is alleged on March 17th, 2023, the youth failed to return to her residence, despite the hours of her curfew, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, ASSAULT POLICE, ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, ON – Male, 21, of Ottawa was arrested on March 18th, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Assault police
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest

It is alleged on March 18th, 2023, while outside of a Montreal Road establishment, the intoxicated man assaulted a woman he did not know, as well as brandished a knife while assaulting a man he did not know. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man resisted police and subsequently attempted to assault police. After the struggle, he was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a concealed pair of brass knuckles. He was charged accordingly and held in custody to await a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 67-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 18th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault and uttering threats. It is alleged during an argument with his wife on March 18th, 2023, the man assaulted her and made threats to harm her. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 18th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault with a weapon and domestic mischief. It is alleged the man had damaged his girlfriend’s cell phone and further threw a glass object at her during an altercation. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 4th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 18th, 2023 and charged with breach of release order for being within a certain distance of his ex-girlfriend. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during a traffic stop for an unrelated matter, the man was observed to be within a certain distance of his ex-girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Female, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on March 18th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on March 9th, 2023, the woman failed to attend court for an extortion offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On March 18th, 2023, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.

REFUSAL TO COMPLY WITH DEMAND

Cornwall, ON – Female, 44, of Orleans, ON was arrested on March 19th, 2023 and charged with refusal to comply with demand. It is alleged during a traffic stop as a result of suspected impairment, the woman refused to provide a suitable sample of breath or blood sample upon demand. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2023.

BREACH, RESIST POLICE

Cornwall, ON – Male, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2023 and charged with breach of release order for failing to abide by his curfew and for attending a certain area of Cornwall. He was also charged with resisting police. It is alleged during a traffic stop on March 19th, 2023, the man was located in breach of his conditions, as he was located away from his residence outside of his curfew and within an area specified to not attend in his conditions. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Female, 49, of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2023 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on March 1st, 2023, the woman failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. On March 19th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Male, 41, of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged on July 6th, 2022, the man unlawfully entered the residence of someone known to him and assaulted the victim before fleeing with their phone. It is further alleged on August 25th, 2022, the man had been using electricity from a residence that did not belong to him. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest. On March 19th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2023.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Male, 23, of Fournier, ON was arrested on March 19th, 2023 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on March 19th, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol when the vehicle struck a snowbank in the area of Larin Avenue. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 11th, 2023.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Male, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on March 20th, 2023 and charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 11th, 2023, the man struck someone who was known to him with an object, causing an injury that required medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 20th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
