CORNWALL & UNITED COUNTIES, Ontario – At 10:57 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, Environment Canada issued a heat warning for the region, specifically the following areas:
- Cornwall – Lancaster
- Maxville – Alexandria
- Morrisburg – Long Sault
- Winchester – Newington
Persons in these areas are encouraged to watch for updated weather statements and be observant for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions.
Extreme heat affects everyone differently. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle. Heat alerts are issued when high humidity or temperature conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illness, such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
