WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Craig Hopkins, 47, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 10, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Theft under $5,000

It is alleged on April 7, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not communicate with a specific individual and to not be within 100 metres of the individual. Furthermore, it is alleged on April 7, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, with the individual he was not supposed to communicate with, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest. On May 10, 2024, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and the man was charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on June 11, 2024.

 

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – Stephanie St. Louis, 39, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 10, 2024, and charged with assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged on April 16, 2024, the woman assaulted an individual known to her, which resulted in injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 10, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 18, 2024.

 

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Leanne Peterson, 57, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 10, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on April 16, 2024, the woman assaulted an individual known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 10, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 18, 2024.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 62-year-old St. Andrews West man was arrested on May 10, 2024, and charged with domestic assault with a weapon. It is alleged on May 10, 2024, the man assaulted his spouse with a weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Padocia Cornelius, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 11, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on May 2, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 11, 2024, while dealing with a separate matter, police located the woman. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on June 27, 2024.

 

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 62-year-old St. Andrews West man was arrested on May 11, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on May 11, 2024, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his spouse and to not attend her residence. It is also alleged on this date, the man was in contact with the woman and attended the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

 Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 11, 2024, and charged with domestic mischief. It is alleged on May 11, 2024, the woman damaged her boyfriend’s property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30, 2024. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

 Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 11, 2024, and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. On April 27, 2024, police responded to a theft call and an investigation ensued. On May 11, 2024, it is alleged the youth was found in possession of the stolen items. Later on this date, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 11, 2024, and charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of domestic mischief. It is alleged on May 11, 2024, the man assaulted his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation also revealed the man had allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and damaged her property on a previous occasion. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Richard Saulnier, 44, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 11, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Uttering threats to damage property

It is alleged on May 11, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man threatened an individual and threatened to damage the individual’s property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 12, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on June 27, 2024.

THEFT UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old Spencerville, ON, man was arrested on May 12, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 8, 2024, the man stole items from his girlfriend’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Later on May 12, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 11, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

BREAK AND ENTER, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 12, 2024, and charged with break and enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence and assault. It is alleged on May 12, 2024, the youth broke into a residence and damaged property. Furthermore, it is alleged, he assaulted an individual while in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

FAIL TO COMPLY, PUBLIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – John Shea, 46, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 12, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with release order and public mischief. It is alleged on May 12, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to reside at a specific address in Cornwall. It is also alleged on this date, the man continuously contacted 9-1-1 for non-emergency reasons. An investigation ensued. The investigation also revealed the man had not been residing at the specific address he was supposed to. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.
