MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 14 2024, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on May 12, 2024, the youth damaged property in his residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 14, 2024, police responded to a trouble with youth call and he was located. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 14, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and one count of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged on May 14, 2024, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate with her ex-boyfriend and to not be within 100 meters of anywhere he may be or attend a specific address. It is also alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On May 14, 2024, police responded to an unwanted person complaint and an investigation ensued. The woman was located at the specific residence she was not supposed to attend. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The woman’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old Markham, ON, woman was arrested on May 14, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Four counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate

It is alleged on April 13, 2023, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not communicate with her ex-boyfriend. It is also alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact her ex-boyfriend. Furthermore, it is alleged on April 13, 2023, the woman communicated with her ex-boyfriend on numerous occasions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 14, 2024, police located the woman while dealing with a separate matter. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The woman’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

SHOPLIFTING

 Cornwall, ON – Carli Duffy-McCormick, 30, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 14, 2024, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000. It is alleged on April 28, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Furthermore, it is alleged on May 14,2024, the woman attended another Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. The woman was detained by the Loss Prevention Officer, police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on June 27, 2024.

 

FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Kullan Taggart, 30, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 14, 2024, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged on May 14, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact or communicate with a specific individual and to not be within 100 meters of any place you know the individual to live, work or frequent. On May 14, 2024, police responded to a disturbance call and an investigation ensued. It is alleged, the man was in contact with the individual he was not supposed to. Furthermore, it is alleged he assaulted another individual with a weapon. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on June 11, 2024.

 

FAIL TO COMPLY, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – Ida Schell, 72, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 15, 2024, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with undertaking and one count of criminal harassment – beset and watch person known to complainant. It is alleged on May 15, 2024, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate with a specific individual and to not go to the individual’s residence or any place she is known to be. It is also alleged on this date, the woman communicated and harassed the individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was held for a bail hearing.

 

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Kimberly Rowe, 45, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 15, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 15, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on June 26, 2024.

 

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 15, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 15, 2024, the youth attended a Water Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Garry Pyper, 45, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 16, 2024, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on May 16, 2024, the man made threats to an individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on June 27, 2024.
