FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Mathieux Doucet, 32, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 17, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 1, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 17, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on July 2, 2024.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, THEFT UNDER $5,000, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 18, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of domestic assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm – choke suffocate or strangle
  • Two counts of theft under $5,000
  • Forcible confinement

It is alleged on May 17, 2024, the man stole his girlfriend’s property and it is alleged on May 18, 2024, the man assaulted the woman. Later on May 18, 2024, it is alleged, the man assaulted his girlfriend causing bodily harm, forcibly confined the woman and assaulted her with a weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation also revealed on March 9, 2024, the man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and stole her property. On May 18, 2024, he was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 11, 2024. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 18, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on May 18, 2024, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not be within 100 meters of her ex-boyfriend’s person, place of residence, employment or any place he may be. On May 18, 2024, police responded to a domestic harassment complaint and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the woman was allegedly walking around her ex-boyfriend’s residence. She was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The woman’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Williamstown woman was arrested on May 19, 2024, and charged with domestic assault with a weapon. It is alleged on May 19, 2024, the woman assaulted her boyfriend with a weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 11, 2024. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, UTTERING THREATS, ASSAULT A PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 20, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Domestic mischief
  • Domestic assault
  • Three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Five counts of assault a peace officer

It is alleged on May 20, 2024, the youth was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the youth assaulted his girlfriend, damaged her property and threatened to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was later located and while being taken into custody, he allegedly made threats to police. Furthermore, it is alleged he spat and kicked police and made threats to police and their families. The youth was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Kyle Cornett, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 20, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on April 25, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not be within 100 metres of a specific address. It is alleged on this date, the man attended the residence he was not supposed to. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.

 

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Ryan Meek, 40, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 20, 2024, and charged with mischief over $5,000. It is alleged the man damaged property inside a residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 20, 2024, while police were dealing with a separate matter, the man was located. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 2, 2024.

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 20, 2024, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and uttering threats to damage property. It is alleged on May 18, 2024, the woman threatened to kill her mother and damager her property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 20, 2024, the woman was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 2, 2024.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, UTTERING THREATS, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 21, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Assault
  • Two counts of assault with a weapon
  • Two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Two counts of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

It is alleged on May 21, 2024, the woman assaulted her sister, assaulted her sister with an edged weapon and uttered threats to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the woman was also allegedly in possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose. She was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 2, 2024. The woman’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
