FAIL TO COMPLY, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM
Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Alfred, ON, man was arrested on May 21, 2024, and charged with the following:
- 29 counts of fail to comply with release order
- Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate
- Domestic assault
- Domestic assault causing bodily harm
It is alleged from Feb. 27, 2024, to May 3, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact his ex-girlfriend. It is also alleged, during that time frame, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend. Furthermore, it is also alleged, the man previously assaulted the woman and assaulted her causing injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 21, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
SHOPLIFTING, WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Padocia Cornelius, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 21, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 21, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. It is also alleged on May 16, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 21, 2024, the woman was located and taken into custody. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
