REFUSAL 

Cornwall, ON – Gabryella Duchesne, 21, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 27, 2024, and charged with refusal to comply with demand. On May 27, 2024, police were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Thirteenth Street East and Sydney Street, and an investigation ensued. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, the woman allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 18, 2024.

ADMINISTER NOXIOUS THING, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 27, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Administer noxious thing
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

It is alleged on May 25, 2024, the youth assaulted an individual with bear spray. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 27, 2024, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 27, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and domestic assault. It is alleged on May 27, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, he assaulted his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Leanne Duff, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 27, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with breach of recognizance and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on April 26, 2024, the woman was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the woman made threats to an individual at the courthouse. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 27, 2024, the woman was located, the warrant was executed and she was charged accordingly. The woman was held for a bail hearing.

 

THEFT OF ELECTRICITY, UTTERING THREATS, MISCHIEF

 

Cornwall, ON – Mabel Marratt, 51, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 27, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Theft of electricity or gas
  • Two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.

On May 17, 2024, police responded to a power theft complaint and an investigation ensued. It is alleged, the woman stole electricity from her neighbour and also made threats toward the individual. Furthermore, on May 22, 2024, police responded to a neighbour dispute and an investigation ensued. It is alleged, the woman refused to allow her neighbour access to her yard. On May 27, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 27, 2024.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Adekola Aderemi, 39, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 27, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On May 27, 2024, police responded to a call in regards to a motor vehicle in a ditch. An investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he had been operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 18, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 27, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

It is alleged on May 27, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man assaulted his brother with a crowbar resulting in injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on July 2, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 28, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and one count of domestic assault. It is alleged on May 28, 2024, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate with her boyfriend and to not be within 100 metres of anywhere he may be or live. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the woman was in contact with her boyfriend and assaulted him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
